Be part of the national discussion.
National Collective is the artistic and creative movement for an independent Scotland. We are both an online platform and a network of like-minded individuals who are brought together by a desire to see a better Scotland.
If you are an artist or creative in support of independence then we need to hear from you. We are open to (just about) anything – our members range from professional award winning writers and photographers to bedroom guitar-pluckers. We want everyone to feel like they are included in the independence debate, and want to provide a platform for voices beyond the same tired politicians and media professionals.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We publish a range of articles examining the debate on the independence referendum and do not subscribe to any particular party line or political opinion. Have a look at the articles we’ve already published: what are we missing? What aspect of the debate has been ignored? If you have something constructive and engaging to say about Scotland or the world, then get in touch. You do not have to be an ‘artist’ to write for us.
Not everyone is artistic or creative in the same way, and not everything translates well into the written word. Filmmaker, photographer, performer? You can still play a valuable role as an ambassador in your field or as a member of our Flytings network.
We understand the importance art can play in political campaigns. Not everyone is going to trawl through our archives of articles, and so we need ways to engage those who won’t. We want to complement our other work with films, infographics, photography, painting, and all other forms of art imaginable. If you can help us with this, then get in touch.
Want to help National Collective, but the pen, brush, guitar or laptop is just not for you? Appreciate what we do and want to make sure we can keep doing it? See our funding appeal to understand how even a small donation can make a big difference to our campaign.
